Dance legend Shiamak Davar welcomed the new US President
Bollywood’s dance veteran Shiamak Davar along with his dance company performed at the swearing-in of the 45th President of the United States of America Donald Trump at the U.S. Consulate General in Mumbai on January 20, 2017. The dancers delivered a high quality performance that thrilled the audience.
The highlight of the event was President Donald Trump delivering his first address as President from Washington D.C. The ball at the U.S. Consulate General was hosted Thomas L. Vajda and President of Namaste America Atul Nishar. The supporting partner for the event was Reliance industries. The event saw the attendance of Poonam Dhillon, Madhu Shah and others.
Consul General Vajda at the event interacted with the media and expressed, “What better way to showcase the bonds between our two countries than by co-hosting this wonderful evening for Indians and Americans to come together to mark an important event in American democracy – the inauguration of a new U.S. President – and the democratic values and principles we both share”. Atul Nishar, the President of Namaste America too expressed that it was an honour to co-host the ball to celebrate 45th President of USA Mr. Donald Trump. Trump was sworn-in as the 45th president of the United States at 17:00 GMT local time.
Though the Republican candidate has not been popular in his own country, his ties remain strong. During his campaign on the trail, he said that he liked ‘Hindi’, meaning Hindus of Indian origin.
