Chalo Dilli movie review – Lara Dutta stars in a colorful entertainer

Bollywood Garam: Chalo Dilli is the first production venture by actress Lara Dutta. The Bollywood movie intends to make the audience laugh and the responsibility to entertain the masses has been taken by Vinay Pathak and Lara.

The movie is co-produced by Lara’s husband Mahesh Bhupathi and is directed by Shashank Shah. Lara plays the role of a successful woman, who is the vice president in investment banking in a multinational bank.

The story is about Mikhija Banerjee (Lara), who accidentally meets Manu Gupta (Vinay Pathak) on a flight to Delhi from Mumbai. Lara is a poised banker, while Vinay plays a loud character, who sells ladies dresses in Delhi.

This is where the adventure starts and the two come across many hurdles on their journey towards Delhi from Mumbai via Jaipur. In the movie, the two land up in a messy situation during their journey and it follows how her smartness and Vinay’s loudness help each other to get out of the mess. The movie is a pure entertainer with colorful moments. A special item number in the movie features Yana Gupta in the song ‘Laila O Laila’, which is a remix of an old track from the movie ‘Qurbani’.

‘Chalo Dilli’ will be hitting the silver screens on 29th April 2011.
