Bollywood Garam: Popular Bollywood film maker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, has claimed that he had already recovered 75% of his investments from his upcoming venture ‘Teen Thay Bhai’ aka “3 Thay Bhai”. The director had made the movie on a tight budget of 7.5 to 8 crores, out of which he has already recovered 5.5 crores.
Omprakash says that even if the movie does not do well at the box office, he will not have anything to loose. The ‘Delhi 6’ director has expressed that this time he is happy to play a safe game, by not wasting money on high budget films.
Mehra said that while he did ‘Delhi 6’ – which failed at the box office – he had this myth in his mind that only big stars in a movie, help the movie to sell. But this time, he opted to fish out the real actors like Shreyas Talpade, Om Puri and Deepak Dobriyal, which helped to cut down the budget of the film massively.
Mehra added that the low budget idea worked for him and here he is now, with no tension of the release. The director was also not bothered of the fact that the movie ‘Dum Maaro Dum’ will be released immediately after ‘Teen Thay Bhai’. Mehra also added that he has made a film which is not meant for the weekend business.
