Aamir Khan gears up for promoting Dangal in China, moving releases next month
After refusal to release Dangal in Pakistan, Aamir Khan is all set for Dangal promotions in China. The Aamir Khan and Sakshi Tanwar starrer is ready to be released in China in May, 2017.
The Taare Zameen Par star has a huge fan following in the neighboring country. His movies like PK, 3 Idiots and Dhoom 3 have been successfully released in China. 3 Idiots had become a major hit among the youngsters and parents while PK too gained popularity and did a good business of 100 million yuan. The figures were surprising for Aamir who said that none of his movies were a success in the country until his first collaboration with Rajkumar Hirani.
Aamir said, “Films featuring top artists from both the countries could bring the two nations close.” The preview event of the Chinese version of Dangal saw a large number of fans. Khan is also expected to visit Chengdu and Shanghai for the promotions of the Mahavir Singh Phogat biopic.
In recent times China increased the number of Indian films to be screened from two to four after the success of the films like Buddies in India and Kung Fu Yoga, during the Chinese New Year. Aamir Khan recently refused to release Dangal in Pakistan as the censor board of the country demanded to emit the scenes with the Indian national flag and the National Anthem. The Dhoom 3 actor explained that the National anthem scene with the National flag was an integral part of the flick and could not be removed in any case. Aamir in the movie is seen playing the role of Mahavir Singh Phogat, who struggles to give his daughters lessons in wrestling.
