Bollywood is gearing up to welcome a new batch of fresh faces to become famous! One of those star kids is none other than Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s eldest child, daughter Sara Ali Khan. The gorgeous girl will soon be making her debut opposite Sushant Singh Rajput in the film Kedarnath that will go on floors later this year. While she is already gaining a steady fanbase and making headlines as much for her celebrity friendships and fashion sense, there was one person who didn’t seem to like the direction her career is taking. And that is none other than her own father, Saif Ali Khan.
In an interview with a leading daily last week, Saif opened up about his apprehension on Sara Ali Khan deciding to work in Bollywood. Beyond all the designer clothing, lavish lifestyle, big movie sets and stardom, is an industry that is extremely tough. At that time, Saif had expressed, “Why would she want that for herself? Look at where she studied. After having done that, why wouldn’t she want to live and work in New York, rather than do this? I am not looking down on acting, it’s just is not the most stable profession. And everyone lives in constant fear. And there is no guarantee that despite doing your best, you will succeed. This is not the life any parent would want for their children.”
Apparently, Amrita Singh, Saif’s ex-wife and Sara Ali Khan’s mother, did not appreciate him making such a negative statement in public. On the cusp of her daughter’s debut, it is the last thing she thinks a parent should divulge to the media. A source has told the media about her reaction, saying, “She told him it was an irresponsible thing to say considering Sara is about to embark on a film career. Saif didn’t want to be dragged into an argument, so he mumbled that he was ‘quoted out of context’ and calmed down his former wife.”
Meanwhile, Saif has tried to douse the fire he started, by making another public statement, clarifying, “It’s annoying when you give a nice interview and people pick up one line and talk about it, it’s irritating. I support my daughter and I love her. I think her choice is great. Of course, she is an actress and she comes from a family of artistes. I am still a little concerned for her as it’s an unsure profession. I love her, so I worry for her.”
