Assamese actress and singer Bidisha Bezbaruah was found hanging from the ceiling at her flat in Gurugram on July 17, 2017. The police have suspected that the 27 year old actress has committed suicide and has arrested husband Nisheeth Jha after levying charges of abetment of suicide.
Bidisha in recent times appeared in a dance sequence in the film Jagga Jasoos which also stars Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif. The actress and her husband had recently shifted to an apartment in Gurugram after she joined a PR agency as accounts executive two weeks back. Nisheeth and Bidisha got married on April 28, 2016. Bidisha’s father has alleged Nisheeth of an of an extra marital affair which forced the actress to commit suicide.
The actress’s father informed that her daughter had called her at about 5 PM on the day she committed suicide and said that she wanted to get a divorce from her husband and disconnected the call saying she will take her own decisions. At 9 PM Bidisha’s father Ashvini Kumar got a call from the police that his daughter was found hanging from the ceiling at her apartment.
The police has said that the Bidisha and her husband had an argument over the phone. Ashwini added that his daughter had told about her husband’s affair to her mother Ranjita, brother Kaushik and a few of her friends. Nisheeth was in Mumbai for office work when the incident happened. Friends of the actress said that Bidisha did a small dance sequence in Jagga Jasoos and is a popular name in the Assamese film industry. Bidisha did her schooling from Nichols and graduated from Cotton College in Guwahati . The actress also did a diploma in journalism from Delhi. Meanwhile, Nisheeth is in trouble as the police has booked a case under the section 306 abetment of suicide of the Indian Penal Code.
